Offering the performance and reliability Shimano is known for at an incredible value, the Shimano 2021 Nasci FC Spinning Reels boast updated features and technologies often seen well outside of its price bracket. This versatile reel series is perfect for a wide range of applications in both freshwater and saltwater. This latest generation of Nasci Spinning Reels includes the same great features that made the previous generation a favorite of many anglers, including the cold-forged HAGANE Gear technology that provides unparalleled gear durability compared to reels with diecast or machined gear construction. Also returning is Shimano's X-Ship and CoreProtect technologies to maximize winding power and keep your reel's internals protected from the elements. New to the lineup of features is SilentDrive, a technology brought down from Shimano's premier line of spinning reels. SilentDrive increases gear tolerances to a micron level to reduce unnecessary noise and vibration for increased reeling performance. With a size range spanning from ultra-light and ice fishing to a variety of inshore applications, anglers of all varieties will be able to find the perfect spinning reel for the job. Engineered to perform with Shimano quality and attention to detail, the newly redesigned Nasci FC punches well above its weight in typical Shimano fashion.

Features:

  • CoreProtect (Excluding 500)
  • HAGANE Gear
  • SilentDrive (Excluding 500)
  • X-Ship (Excluding 500)
  • G-Free Body
  • Cross Carbon Drag(C5000)
  • Propulsion Line Management System
  • Water-Resistant Drag
  • Screw-In Handle

Most of my reels are made by Penn, some Daiwa and Shimano but mostly Penn. This is only my 4th reel from Shimano and the only thing I can think of after buying this Nasci is which one should I get next. The smoothness and quietness of this reel is superior to any other reel I own. The look is amazing, the feel is amazing. Ive been targeting bigger fish but I haven’t been able to catch anything too big. I like to put these reels (all my reels) to the test. I will recommend it to anyone!

what good inshore rod would work well for the 4k that is under $200
1 Answer
Cooper,

A good rod to pair with the Shimano Nasci FC 4000 spinning reel for inshore fishing would be the St.Croix Triumph Inshore spinning rod TRIS70MF.  Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with.

Matt,

The Shimano Nasci FC 5000 reel and the Jigging World Nexus 7'6" spinning rod will pair very nicely to be used from jetty, boat, or beach,  And for targeting striper, fluke, tog, seabass, or bluefish up in the Northeast.  Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with.

Would this 5000 reel fit well on a 8ft tsunami airwave surf rod

Or maybe a 4000 is better

1 Answer
You will want to go with the 5000. For surf rods you will want to go with a larger reel 6000 is an ideal starting size for a surf rod but you should be good with a 5000. I have the same rod an 8ft tsunami airwave and I have a 4000 size Sienna on it and it leaves me wanting more capacity everytime I cast into the surf.
