The new Legend Xtreme Series provides 4 different casting models for a wide range of technique-specific applications. Anglers will find these casting models designed specifically for everything from flipping to frogging. St. Croix Legend Xtreme rods take sensitivity to insane levels with the all-new, exotic Daiwa AGS carbon fiber guide train. These pure carbon fiber guide frames increase energy transmission, resulting in a more sensitive and responsive rod. These guides can also take a beating and resist bending and breaking. The pairing of the new Legend Xtreme blanks with the Daiwa AGS carbon fiber guides is a rod that goes far beyond what anglers previously considered sensitive. The process of making a rod this sensitive shouldn’t ignore the critical connection point between rod and angler. That’s why St. Croix developed an all-new handle worthy and up to the rest of the astounding, standards of the new Legend Xtreme. The Gen2 Xtreme-Skin handle performs beyond expectations in all conditions both wet and dry and transmits feedback from the rod with precision and speed.

I have a few questions pertaining to this Legend Xtreme casting model.

1) Can this casting rod attach a conventional reel for boat use?  If yes, what would be a good reel?

2) I see it has a lower line and lure weight, can it handle Blackfish, seabass and stripers on boat?

1 Answer
These rods would certainly be able to handle any of the fish you wish to target, these rods are built to handle almost anything.

While im sure you can mount a conventional style reel on this rod i wouldnt recommend it, I would highly recommend a Shimano Tranx 300 or 400 size or Daiwa Lexa, some kind of low profile reel with enough torque and power to lift these fish

Why are you charging 630 to 650 when these rods retail in many places for 430 to 460?
1 Answer
These rods are brand new from St. Croix, and they set the pricing on their rods. All authorized dealers are at the same MAP price that St. Croix sets. If you are seeing $430 - $460, it is most likely for the old models in the link below:
