Can't beat St Croix

My 4th St. Croix and it performs exactly as you'd want. Light and sensitive w/ enough backbone for larger redfish.

Great Rod
December 2, 2020
Paied this rod with a 4000 stratic for inshore fishing and it is a great combo. Good for trout, rockfish, flounder, puppy drum, and sheepshead. Rod is sensitive enough to feel the bite and plenty of backbone to bring in the big one!

Rod can do it all

Love the 8' versions to do it all. Set at a price point that makes it easy to get into a premium rod. Pretty tough guides!

My father in law has a tide master. Uses it for anything inshore and nearshore at wrecks. He loves it. Medium light action.

Great inshore rods
November 20, 2019
I love the Tidewater series! Not only are they affordable but they are great inshore rods. I have 3 of them and use them for stripers, blues, albies, blackfish and other bottom fishing species. To me they are the perfect all around inshore rod.

Fantastic light rod for casting small lures, using it often for sight casting to flats feeders and couldn't be happier. Light to carry, casts very well and plenty of backbone for larger fish.

Good all around inshore rod
March 16, 2019
Very high quality. I compared this rod to St Croix Avid inshore models and decided I liked Tidemaster better. Light weight and has a nice soft action, compared to my St Croix 7' MH Premier.
ProsUSA product
Cons8 foot rods can be a little hard to transport

All over Georgia coast
St Croix tidemaster
December 24, 2018
Paired this with regular shimano Stradic, 15# fins windtamer, 25 # leader and throw jerkbaits up into Georgia marsh grass and crush the reds. 7 foot 6 inch mh fast. Too heavy for the light jigs I throw for trout but perfect for a big weighted jerk bait. I have also used it with a weighted popping cork. It has a little too stiff action for my liking for the popping cork. Medium fast would probably work better for my style.

Fantastic light rod

I have three of these rods primarily for casting for schooling stripers and shallow water casting. I've caught small perch to 23" stripers with this rod. It's a tough rod and has great sensitivity.
ProsI don't have to worry about a broken tip while hooking up with a 10 or 15 lb striper.
ConsExpensive. I've found some custom rods for less money but I am not sure if they are as good.

Best rods

I use these for inshore Reds, Flounder and anything else that may bite. I also throw them at a pond across the street from my house for bass when I can’t get out in the saltwater. Probably won’t ever buy anything other than the Tidemaster again.
ProsQuality is awesome Top Company with great warranty Amazing feel while fishing it

Great NE Rod

This is the second Tidemaster I've purchased for fishing in New Jersey. I originally purchase the 7' and wanted a beefier rod for spring striper. Pleased with this purchase.

Go to Kayak Rod
March 11, 2018
I use the 3/4-2 rated rod as my go to kayak rod, i have it in both spinning and conventional. I am primarily targeting bottom fish but on the occasion blues or stripers get in the mix this has the power to handle them as well.
ProsLight, strong and durable.

I have the TIC80mhf conventional rod...what's a good reel for that?

There are tons of options for that rod, depending on your preferences. It would help to know if you prefer a lever or star drag, and what you are fishing for. For general bottom fishing and light trolling inshore New Jersey I use an Avet SX.

Would this be a good choice to pair with Shimano Stradic Fi 4000 reel using 20 lb braid

Yes that sounds like a very good setup. The rod and reel would match up very well.
