The SteelShad Blade Baits are an ideal lure for late fall and winter time fishing. Designed to be fished deep where bass reside in the colder months, these blade baits do a fantastic job of imitating the natural phenomenon of dying shad in deeper water as temperatures drop. The SteelShad imitates this perfectly by quickly sinking to your desired depth with a fluttering fall that mimics a dying baitfish. These blade baits can be effectively fished like a crankbait with a standard cast and wind retrieve, but they truly excel on a "yo-yo" retrieve where the bait is aggressively pulled through the water with a hard lift of the rod tip, and then allowed to fall on slack line. This retrieve effectively imitates a dying shad attempting to flee from predators by producing an aggressive, tight wobble as the bait darts upwards, followed but a slow, defenseless flutter towards the bottom. The SteelShad features a durable stainless steel construction with a molded lead weight and is fitted with two VMC Permasteel Hooks.
