best choice out there for UL braid
March 6, 2020
For 10 years now, I've been fishing Japanese 7-1/2'- to 8'-long UL rockfish rods in inshore niche where weightless rig makes all the difference. Recently added the Black Hole UL rockfish and matched it with the Japan-market Vanquish C2000S, the lowest-inertia (lowest moving mass) UL reel made. There aren't too many choices for braid under 10-lb. Suffix offers the coastal camo in 6-lb, and will fill two spools for this little reel. The coated braid resists twist and knots well.
Pros8-strand, coated; Best 6-lb braid choice out there.

Won’t use any other braid

Fish the Sufix 832 20lb for most of my inshore fishing. Have caught some healthy redfish who just love taking your line down into oyster shell. Line will get some abrasion, but I’ve not lost fish due to the line breaking. I also fish 20-50lb 832 for my freshwater fishing and it performs as well in fresh as it does in salt. I find it to be a really good casting line with good distance and great accuracy. Sensitivity is good for braid.

Best Braid you can buy!

Used to fish power pro but have since made the switch to Sufix 832 and have never looked back - I use 20lb for light tackle blackfishing, 40lb for striped bass chunking. The color may fade after a few seasons but the line holds up flawlessly - superior breaking strength, higher than the line class suggests.
