This is my first travel rod and so far it's been a solid bargain for the price. Not to mention the rod tube is big and sturdy enough that you could easily put another rod in it.
ProsPrice, sturdy case, solid

Great price, Very good rod, Great kayak back-up
March 31, 2020
I've been there before, a fish and I together broke a favorite casting rod right at the boat - I rescued the weekend with a 3-pc. back-up casting rod stashed in the kayak bow hold. I've carried the same 3-pc casting stashed out of the way behind a boat seat.
Had a good excuse to buy the TD Silver Hook 3-pc spinning rod - outfitting a friend for a weekend - and it gives me a back-up spinning rod that will now always be there.
The rod blank is gorgeous, moderate graphite that reminds me of an old favorite Loomis GL2 - they're even the same color blue. The sleeve ferrules are efficient, strong, and imperceptible in the rod action.
These are the same grade Fuji components used in TD Platinum Hook rods, which I own two, happily including the discontinued 12-lb-line e-glass offshore spinner. I'd say the workmanship isn't quite up to the Platinum Hook rods, but the price is also half.
Sock and rod tube, and the tube is generous enough for another rod or two - I moved my 3-pc back-up casting rod into the same TD rod tube. If they gave me more photos, I'd show you the TD rod tube in the kayak bow hold...
ProsGreat price, Very good moderate graphite blank with great ferrules; Excellent Fuji components; Great configuration, easy to stash, and a nice travel rod tube that fits a second and maybe third rod.
ConsB- workmanship, not up to TD's Platinum Hook rods

Bought one to take on plane to Brazil Amazon rain forest peacock bass fishing. Put 300 series Shimano reel 65# power pro braid. Rod held up to rigorous fishing and was perfect for 12# plus peacock bass. Plan on buying the medium to take on walleye trip to Minnesota this spring. Great rod at any price. Fished like a one piece rod. Very impressed.

Excellent Quality Dasy to travel with
February 10, 2020
I bought the heavier model of this rod and was very happy with it on a recent trip to Panama, Caught a nice Cubera snapper about 15 lbs and a bunch of other snappers Jacks and a few Grouper. Easy to stow in the heavy duty travel tube. Securly stays together and comes apart without a fuss when you need to break it down. Wish they made this series travel rod for conventional reels in the 25- 30 lbs class.
ProsNice travel case. very secure when together,
ConsReel seat loosened while sitting in the rod holder, had to tighten it several times.

No complaints I’m happy with this rod, it looks and feels nice. On summer beach days it’s barely noticeable once packed away in travel tube. Performed lovely in NJ for fluke on beach days this year with my wife lol.

Super value for a travel rod!!!
January 8, 2019
I bought this rod specifically for a trip to the Caribbean. First off, the travel case is extreme sturdy and traveled very well as carry on. It easily fit in the plane's overhead storage. As for the rod, I was impressed with the quality of the build for this price point. The pieces held a snug fit and I did not experience any twist. I paired this up with a Daiwa BG 3000 reel for inshore fishing and had no problems handling species like Jack Crevalles and etc. I think I will be buying the medium version of this rod soon!
