This rod is powerful. Handles sharks, snapper and grouper no problem. Holds a 6oz sinker easy, very responsive lots of play when you hook big fish. Ultra sensitive can feel everything on this rod. Feels the slightest bite from fluke and bait stealers. Highly recommend this rod to those who want a great rod for a budget price.
Pros

I was very surprised when I opened my tube. The quality of this rod far exceeds the cost paid for it. The back bone is strong and the action appears correct. I honestly can’t say enough about it. Top it off with a 5 year warranty.
Pros
  • Economical
  • Fit and finish
  • Warranty
  • Build quality

real seats break
July 9, 2020
Let me start with these rods have great action for the money. They are comfortable to jig with and fun to catch fish with. BUT, we broke 2 reel seats in on the first day out with these. 5 year warranty is great, i'm sure they will be replaced, but it will be the same junk reel seat.

I snapped the tip off one my jig rods that came in the Penn Spinfisher 6500 combos. Bought two of these so I could have matching pairs. We are primarily targeting big bull red fish down 30-60 feet deep. These things are awesome for the price!

Rods are great
March 26, 2019
Purchased one of the 50-100 lb after using my son's and felt every little nibble you would get. Definitely has increased the amount of hookups that i get due to it being that sensitive. It even put my custom built rod that was over $300 to the test and won. You would never believe how light, sensitive, and yet robust these rods are for the price.

Will this rod work for blue/yellowfin tuna popping a Halco Roosta 160? Planning on pairing with a Penn SSV8500 and 80lb maxcuatro braid
1 Answer
This rod is meant for jigging, I would suggest a 8 foot popping rod from either OTI or Shimano.

Morning I just purchased the PENN SSV9500. PLANNING TO USE 100-150 LBS BRAID LINE ON IT. QUESTION IN YOU EXPERT EXPERENCE CAN THIS ROD HANDLE IT? QUESTION #2 CAN YOU PLEASE SEE IF THIS ROD CAN SECURE TIGHTLY THIS REEL SSV9500 PENN. BEFORE I PURCHASE THIS ROD THANK YOU
1 Answer
This reel would have the line capacity for at least 300yards+ of 100lb or 150lb braided line. The reel seat on the Tsunami TSTBS-J761XH Trophy Jigging Rod would accommodate the SSV9500 without a doubt.
