Floating, top water, Tsunami XD Talkin' Popper Lures deliver popping, skittering, splashing action to draw reactionary strikes from predators. Large weight transfer balls provide longer tumble-free casts and loud, fish attracting rattles. Tough, colorful finishes with 3D life-like eyes imitate prey species. Extra sharp VMC Cut Point treble hooks enable faster hook-sets. Heavy duty stainless steel split rings and rattles are part of the superior construction, guaranteeing more dynamic fishing. These extra distance models improve on the classic Talkin' Popper Lures.

Tsunami XD Talkin' Popper Lure Features:

  • Extra Distance Model
  • Type: Floating
  • Front Hook: 4x VMC Treble Hook

Began catching fish from the first cast
Excellent casting lure, good hardware and the fish seem to like the slightly slimmer profile.
ConsFinish is beginning to scratch off, but bluefish teeth will do that.

Good popper, great price
Caught my first (and then several other) stripers on this popper on the New Jersey coast. Great casting (the XD version does seem to cast better) and easy to work through the water. Nice, high quality lure that is cheaper than most other similar poppers. I like the 5 and 6 inch bunker color.
ProsCasts great - Nice shape and weight - Sharp, quality hooks
ConsPaint gets scraped off by the hooks pretty easily - Not the biggest 'pop'

My Gibbs Alternative
This is THE lure I use when I am searching new water. It throws well, has excellent action, and is heavy enough to get out to the rips, but light enough to be thrown when looking for fish. While I love my Gibbs Poppers for a blitz, the Talkin' is the one I'll throw when I can't see 'em, but my gut tells me they're there. I like the Siwash hook when targeting blues, but have swapped out to 3/0 VMC trebles on a few when looking for cows.

Blues and Bass
A great lure for fishing the surf for blues and striped bass. The color is cool and the hooks are sharp. The weight is perfect for casting the extra distance and the action is a definite fish attractant.

Great lure. Reasonable price
This is my go to lure when fish are breaking. It casts well and has great action when rod is used in a herky jerky action. I also love the price. Reasonably priced lures means you can buy more of them in different colors without breaking the bank.
ProsCasts well

Bass Lure?
I bought this lure really for surf fishing. It came in the mail the other day and I just had to try it out. Problem was...I was more then 1.200 miles away from the Gulf. Well, I thought to myself...I will just walk across the street to our 26 acre lake.and do a little casting. Using my Tommy Farmer, 12ft surf rod, Van Stall reel, 30lb braid, I launched the Tsunami. The very first thing that was noticed was the extreme distance this little missile flew. Well... I gave the Talkin' Popper a slight jerk and in the next moment the surface exploded with the power of a 6 pound, Large Mouth Bass. Our lake is heavily fished and in the previous two weeks... I had caught absolutely nothing! Maybe it was dumb luck or perhaps this lure is very special, that works well in both fresh and saltwater. My Talkin' Popper is 5 inches long, 1-58oz, and is the Green Mackerel model. Perhaps the Large Mouth Bass confused the Mackerel with the Perch that also inhabit our little lake. Give it a try! The price is reasonable and the quality is high.
ProsReasonable price, high quality.

great lure
i was already happy with the original talking popper. but this added weight really adds a lot of distance to the cast. This is easily my favorite lure now. Why is this better than the others? It's very loud. I can hear the rattling. With other lures, i usually cant hear it. I've already caught fish on it. I will easily take this on every trip.

Casts like a rocket
On windy days where a popper is producing, this is what I use. Casts like a rocket and catches fish extremely well. Awesome hooks too.

You can buy this lure and be assured to catch fish with out breaking the bank. Works best when its not too windy.
Prosinexpensive and great action
Consdoes not work the best in rough conditions.

Should I tie my line directly to popper or use a swivel?

You can either tie it directly to the lure,a snap swivel or tactical Anglers Power Clip.
