We all need to catch fish with the least amount of damage and injury to the fish. Single VMC Inline hooks are one way to do this. I looked at about six different places to buy these hooks including my local shop and everybody was close to two dollars more for the same item. Cape Cod Canal is the next stop for these!

Great plug hooks

I've replaced the trebles on a lot of my plugs with these inline hooks. Usually can find the right size to keep the action consistent. I might occasionally miss a hookup, but to me it is worth it. No trebles swinging around for me to worry about when I land the fish, and no trebles buried in the fish's face or flanks to mess them up. Feels like a safer, more responsible way to fish.

Used the 3/0 to swap out all the stock hooks on saltwater jerkbaits. 2/0 would've been better but that's just preference. Great hooks

Inline Hooks
January 26, 2022
Purchased these to replace treble hooks on deep diving plugs. Very sharp hooks out of the bag. Hooks did just what they were made to do. I wish I had done it years ago , no more fighting the trebles in the net or being stuck. As usual fast shipping from Tackle Direct.

I need the inline hooks in size 1 - any chance you guys will ever have these available?
1 Answer
Hi Ferdinand, Unfortunately we only carry the VMC Inline Single Hooks in a size 1/0 as the smallest size currently at this time. However, we do carry BKK Inline hooks in a size #1. https://www.tackledirect.com/bkk-a-es-8960-lone-diablo-inline-single-hook.html Please let us know if theres anything else we can assist you with. I'm wanting to switch out the trebles on a few lures that are about 3 to 4 inches long.  Can you give me an idea of what size (or sizes) to match with these?  Thank you.
1 Answer
For both 3 inch baits you'll want a 3/0 and a a 4 inch you'll want a 4/0 although a 3/0 will work fine for a 4 inch bait. General rule of thumb is for every inch of bait go up one size starting from 1/0.

I am looking for recommendations on two questions. 1) I am replacing the stock trebles on Manns Bait Stretch 30+ lures, the trebles are ~1.25" across two points. I am leaning towards the VMC 5/0 inline hook, is this reasonable? 2) What size SPRO or VMC split rings are appropriate for the VMC inline hooks, size 3/0, 5/0, and 7/0?
1 Answer
I would recommend going with either the 6/0-7/0 inline hook. The split rings I would go with spro size 6 150lb

What is the corresponding size inline single hook to replace triple hooks on a plug? For example would I use a 2/0 inline hook to replace the 2/0 SP minnow hook, and a 3/0 inline to replace a 3/0 tail hook on a popper? (I am asking because on the Owner web site, they recommend a 5-0 Owner inline hook to replace a 2/0 treble, and a 7/0 Owner inline hook to replace a 4/0 treble.)
1 Answer
It is good practice to keep the replacement hooks 2-3 sizes bigger than the treble hooks that they are replacing. If you are using Owner hooks, I would recommend going with the manufacturers suggested hook sizes.

What salt water lures fishing for stripers has anyone used and had luck using inline hooks, someone mentioned to me they have used rubber bands to hold the hooks tight to a needle fish. Anyone? I'm wondering how they will hold up on swimmers.
1 Answer
Most of the guys here in the shop have not had a chance to fish them yet for stripers as we got them in late in the season. We have been rigging them on Super Strike needle fish, Mag Darters by Yo-Zuri and SP Minnows on the trailer end only and leaving the treble the other hook latch. This way it does not need to be rubber banded to the body and you still get to eliminate one of your trebles.
