Maureen regularly chases line class records, having set twenty-four IGFA world records (16 approved, 8 retired). Our favorite? Her 2001 record bluefin — 55lbs on 12lb tackle. Thirteen of her line class records were set with Captain Ricky Wheeler behind the wheel. If you have an IGFA account, you can check out Mo’s records here: Maureen Klause IGFA Record List.

Maureen was recently awarded the prestigious IGFA Bob Herder Light Tackle Award at their 13th Annual Angling Achievement Award Ceremony. She started fishing at age 5 (first catch: flounder) and began offshore fishing in her 20s. She continues to fish in her home waters off Ocean City, NJ as well as in the Outer Banks, NC and off the coast of southern Florida.
