This real rocks
This real is lighter than all my penns and is smoother I have been able to catch big snook and Jack ladyfish but my only downfall is that the handle does not go directly into the gears therefore I don't think it'll last as long as my penn spin fisher or my penn slammer

NASCI 3000
This is a fantastic, smooth reel for the price. I use it mostly for bass fishing along with some inshore for reds and strippers. It casts well, and the drag has enough umph to make it a good inshore reel. If you fish heavy grass/lily pads in freshwater and live close enough to the coast to fish inshore, I recommend the smaller NASCI sizes. It will be hard to find a better reel for at the $100.00 price point.

NASCI 5000
Just purchased thus reel and tried it out a few times. Works very well like most Shimano reels. Very smooth, and good balanced feel. I have yet to see how the drag system works on a big fish running. But overall it's a good reel for the price.

amazing. tough. smooth.
Had a chance to use this reel today in less than perfect conditions, snow on the ground, dodging ice flows and 30 degree water. This reel functioned in an environment that literally causes most reels to simply explode. This is the smoothest reel I have ever used, the gears are nothing short of amazing, SO SMOOTH, SO POWERFUL, JUST SIMPLY AMAZING! I plan on buying the 5000 size when I get the chance.
ProsEXTREMELY SMOOTHNESS, AMAZING DURABILITY, AWESOME FIT AND FINISH, AND TO TOP IT OFF, I LOVE THE BLACK AND SPARKLY BLUE COLOR. This will become a legendary reel.
ConsABSOLUTELY NONE!!!!!!

Good reel but one issue I found
Reel feels as smooth if not smoother then my fk Stradic, 2nd cast I had on this reel I hooked into a nice 28" red fish and functioned flawlessly reel was as smooth as could be. The only problem I found was flex in the body, not to say it's not going to last a long time but flex like that in a reel is never a good thing to have.
ProsEverything besides the body

Awesome Reel for the Price!!!
Bought this reel, the 2500 model, for light back bay fishing. Tackle Direct is my favorite saltwater fishing supplier. Stopped by the showroom while in AC. The staff could not say enough about this reel. As soon as I picked it up, I was impressed by it's lightness and extreme smoothness. 2 days later, I was lucky to break it in the back bay with stripers up to 30'' on poppers. The drag is really smooth. Like the guys said in the store, "if you have a $100 to spend on a spinning reel, this is the reel to get" Well done Shimano and thanks again Tackle Direct, you guys are a step above the rest!!!

Inshore, what is the right rod to pair with the 4000, saltwater red and speck fishing, fresh bass and stripper fishing?
1 Answers
The St Croix MIS76MF Mojo Inshore Spinning Rod would be an ideal match paired with the Nasci 4000 for the application your using the combo for.

does that white thing come off the spool?
1 Answers
Yes, that white label is there to list certain features and technologies it includes while the reel is on display. It needs to be removed before spooling.
