The Yo-Zuri Mag Minnow features a Magnet Weight Transfer System that allows for maximum casting distance as the weight of the magnet and weight balls slide to the back of the lure. After the cast has been completed the balls transfer to the belly of the lure via the magnet system, which creates an irresistible swimming action that naturally mimics an injured baitfish. The natural presentation is elevated even further by the highly detailed, etched holographic finish, realistic gill plates, and 3D eyes.

This is the beefiest of all of the yo-zuri minnow baits and it lives up to the hype this lure is great for a variety of fish from mackerel, tunas, roosterfish, bonita, tarpon, stripers, bluefish, etc. The lure is very versatile not only in what it can catch but how it can be used. Great bait for casting because of the weight and balance makes it a great surf lure as well as on the boat. This bait can also be trolled. It is actually a favorite of mine to troll from a kayak above a rocky bottom in Costa Rica for small YFTs.
ProsGreat action Great balance-casts far great baitfish profile-not too skinny like other minnow baits.
ConsCould use a better color selection

Have yet to catch a fish

The Minnow is pretty light so it's hard to cast it out far into the surf, but so far I have yet to catch anything on it. Will keep trying but it's a bit small for ocean fishing..

realistic medium-sized baitfish imitator for clear water

I have fished this lure in freshwater for Lake Trout (trolling) and Muskellunge (casting). In both situations it excels. Deep down its rolling action and flash seem to be very attractive to predators like the Lake Trout. For use with Muskellunge, this lure completely blows away the rather crude poorly constructed and painted, cheap looking but expensive to buy minnow musky baits that are on the market - it is durable, casts well, runs truer, has great action, is extremely well-made and for clear-ish water the realistic appearance seems to produce strikes.

I would assume all these characteristic would apply in saltwater to Striped Bass et c. - highly reccomended
ProsRealistic, fantastic wobbling action, good castability but also suitable for trolling.
ConsYo-Zuri lures are fairly expensive, so they will probably be used in snag-free areas. You need to know when to tie on a cheaper lure when fishing rip rap shorelines, rock-piles, heavy weed and timber.
